Almost twenty-fives acres of certified organic practices in Cleveland, Red Clay Farms is one of our new vendors and they are as excited as we are for all their products that will be available this season.
Their produce is all grown without GMO seeds and their crops rotate with luscious strawberries, lovely arugula, mixed salad greens, kale, lettuce, broccoli, swiss chard, potatoes, green beans, a variety of organic micro-greens and more. Organic stoneground milled grains is their newest addition and they will mill on demand, insuring you get the freshest flour possible. They have a stone mill which is unique in that it is from Austria and the stone is made from volcanic stone and is self-sharpening. They currently have soft red wheat flour, corn meal, corn grits, rye flour, pumpernickel flour, oat flour, oat porridge, wheat bran, oat bran and cream of wheat.
They have a fiber farm with alpacas, llamas, Jacob sheep (primitive breed sheep), Angora goats, along with horses, dogs and cats. Every year we have Shearing Day and it is open to the community. They work with a llama and alpaca rescue and all of their alpacas are from the rescue. They shear their animals and then send the fiber to the mill for yarn and roving. They sell raw fiber, roving and yarn from ALL of their fiber animals.
In addition to those fur farm babies, they also raise heritage breed chickens: Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks, Australops, Partridge Rocks, Arauconas, Buff Orpingtons and the more common white leg horns and Cornish rocks. We sell farm fresh eggs and have a growing clientele who love our fresh, cage-free, free-roaming chicken eggs.
Stop by their booth, speak with Ron or his son Seth to find out more about what they have planned for the season.
