A farmers market is nothing without its customers and, as many of you have supported us through multiple moves, we ask that you have patience like farmers have with seedlings. As we were not able to shut down the street for a dress rehearsal before the big day, tomorrow will be an initial run through to work out a more permanent layout. You will have to keep your head up and smile big as you look for your dependable suppliers of all things sustainably and locally grown.

As the map shows, Chestnut Street will not allow thru traffic from the chicken plant driveway (17th St) to Chattanooga Brewing therefore we encourage parking in our good ol’ Republic parking lot and walking less then a block to the party. We are going to have some familiar lovely faces shaking green signs with arrows guiding you down Chestnut to help in this transition.

Parking on Chestnut St is free (which I think is the only place left in town—shhhh, don’t tell anyone) however it may be filled so be open to doing a lap to figure out where will be your new go-to spot every Wednesday. There may be some spots available behind Chattanooga Brewing, however they will only be accessible by coming via 20th St. There is also ample Finley parking on that side of Chestnut as well.

As we have almost twenty vendors setting up, we ask that you refrain from trying to “shop the market” before 4pm to give them time to completely move into their new home. There will be a chalkboard at both sides and the market booth showing what vendors are where as it will change weekly so look for those too. This big move coincides with Daylight Savings Time so you’ll have a whole two hours to shop all the goodies! If your time is limited, do not hesitate to reach out to your regulars and ask them to put aside items for you.

So, why the move you ask? Free rent as we had to pay Finley for the lot usage. Access to bathrooms, beer, prepared food, water and electricity. Better street lighting to allow a 2-hour market year round. And as if all that wasn’t enough, Chatt Brew is going to donate 10% of their sales during market hours back to our non profit mission to inspire healthy, environmentally responsible lifestyles by fostering relationships within the local food community.

PLUS Chattanooga Brewing is now offering Monthly Market Features that will help you better visualize how to use your market goods in a meal. So don’t shop hungry! Stop in and enjoy the Southern Hash made with Crabtree Farms Collard Greens and Feathers & Fruits’ eggs washed down with a $3 Chattahooligan Kolsch or Shamrock City Red Ale.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to shoot us an email or message. Until then, we’ll see you tomorrow!
