Ouroots Produce

Ouroots is a brand-new small-scale aquaponic farm on Mowbray Mountain, just 22 miles from downtown Chattanooga. Our mission is to grow produce locally and sustainably for the health of our community and our planet.

We grow produce inside our 4000 square foot semi-passive solar greenhouse using an agricultural technique called aquaponics.

Aquaponics is growing plants in the water that has been used to
cultivate fish. It’s a combination of aquaculture and hydroponics. The fish fertilize the water and the plants take up the nutrients and filter the water for the fish.

We grow nutrient dense microgreens, flavorful leafy greens, and fresh herbs while raising channel catfish.
