I don’t know about you but this time of year, no matter how many deep breaths and warm cider I inhale, is stressful. Even with buying little to no gifts as my tribe understands more about the tradition of sharing each other presence, I still find myself feeling as frantic as an elf on Christmas Eve.
So, what to bring to the holiday party? Or what to gift the co-worker or teacher? My blood pressure calms as I confidently know I can simultaneously squeeze in my grocery shopping with my holiday shopping every Wednesday. The Main St. Market is open year-round and has closed fewer than a handful of times in its decade of existence. It is a city staple that can provide sustenance and, in my case, sanity.
As to not fill up friends’ houses with thoughtful trinkets, I have decided to gift all things edible! Which brings me to Ocoee Creamery’s awesome array of goat cheese. Mack Haynes, owner and milker of Ocoee Creamery, wants to produce artisan cheese that promotes sustainable agriculture and healthy living for their customers and our animals. With the support of the beautiful women in his life—his wife Anna, 2-year-old Eliza June and three-month-old Addie Jo, Mack can do it all!
He brings flavors like Chupacabra and Strawberry and I am obsessed with his feta. For a lady who considers herself cheesy enough, I find myself snagging a different cheese each week. Just on a baguette or by the spoonful, his goat cheese is simply delicious. As he offers samples, stop by his booth and discover your favorite flavor or just take a moment to slow down and talk to a farmer, a father, a fellow supporter of our sustainable community.
